Friends is a TV series from NBC, created by David Crane and released in 1994. It immediately became a worldwide phenomenom.
The series has 10 seasons which aired constantly from it's release date to 2004, where the final episode let everyone -fans and cast- speechless, feeling as if something had been torn from their lives.
The pilot of the first season let everyone know they ere on air to do some changes in the sitcom family. Portraying the ups and downs of a group of friends, the series started like this:
David Schwimmer plays Ross Geller. He's a paleontologist who works in a museum. He's always been in love with Rachel, who's his sister's best friend.
Lisa Kudrow plays phoebe Buffay. She has a twin sister: Ursula (also played by Lisa). Sh'es childlike, innocent, and considered the "weird one" of the group. She sings in Central Perk: The gang's favourite coffee shop.
Matt le Blanc plays Joey Tribbiani. He's an italian guy who loves women and pizza -well, he loves all kinds of food. Despite his unintelligent nature, Joey is repeatedly shown as a caring and kindhearted person.
Jennifer Aniston plays Rachel Green. She's a spoiled girl who expects her parents to give her everything. During the series she becomes an independent woman. She's Monica's best friend and roommate.
Matthew Perry plays Chandler Bing. He's the funny one. He's Joey's roommate and no-one really knows what he does for a living. He's "hopeless and awkward and desperate for love". He's been Ross' best friend since college.
Courteney Cox plays Monica Geller. She's Ross' sister and Rachel's roommate. She's obsessed with cleaning and organizing things. She's a cook.
